FLAT AND WARM ROOFS

Flat and warm roofs are a type of roof construction which has an insulation layer above the rafters, and immediately below its weatherproof membrane. A warm roof construction has many benefits over a traditional ‘cold roof’, essentially it is a ‘breathable roof construction’, which allows moisture to escape which in turn prevents damp and any associated decay problems. A warm roof construction allows heat to be conserved within a property – without the need for a ventilation system.

A warm roof is thermally efficient and cost effective, and is commonly accepted as the best roof option for our climate within the UK. Throughout the course of the year the roof deck and all below it is kept at a temperature close to that of the inside of the building, therefore the roof structure is protected from extremes of hot and cold, lessening the potential for damage caused by thermal movement.

What is GRP?

GRP is just another name for Fibreglass it is an acronym for Glass Reinforced Plastic. You will find fibreglass all over the place – yachts, wind turbine blades and swimming pools. Fibreglass is a mixture (or composite) of glass reinforcement and polyester resin, which is cured and then given an additional coat of coloured resin (topcoat) to enhance its appearance and performance.

Why Choose Fibreglass?

Fibreglass is known for its strength, appearance, weather resistance and longevity. These characteristics and properties make fibreglass an ideal material for roofing.

A glass fibre roof is the modern answer. Not a single drop of water will pass through a glass fibre flat roofing system.  easily fitted to all types of flat roofs including: Garages, Extensions, Porches and Dormers, Domestic and Commercial, Insurance quotes and Repair work.

  • Low Lifetime cost and ECO friendly – Extremely ECO friendly materials all applied with little energy. – Greenpeace and the Green Building Digest recommend EPDM Rubber as Best Value sustainable eco-sound roofing – it’s low cost over it’s life and it’s competitive price are notable elements.
  • Safe Installation – EPDM Rubber requires no heat or other unsafe installation techniques. The system is installed using only glues (no flames!)
  • Minimal Disruption – EPDM Rubber can overlay most sound decks saving stripping costs and ensuring minimal roofing works disruption.

What our customers say

  • An excellent piece of work by Frazer at Roofline Installations over capping our existing wooden facias and replacing our tired looking gutters. Our new UPVC fascia panels, porch and guttering look really nice, very slick and our the envy of the Close sealing from the weather perfectly too. Frazer has provided us with top quality, professional work with expert installation at a very competitive price compared with other quotes we had.

He was very quick to respond to any questions and email and gave very useful advice about what we needed for our roof. On the day he turned up on time and had a very friendly manner which we really appreciated. He has some very modern equipment which didn’t get in the way of our daily routine’s and cleaned up on completion. We would definitely use Frazer (Roofline Installations) again and will recommend him to all our friends and family.

    Happy Customer (Replacement Fascias)
  • After posting an advert on MyBuilder we selected Fraser at Roofline Installations to do our soffits, fascia’s, guttering and gable end caps, after having a number of firms come and quote for the job. We selected Fraser as he came across as really caring about what we wanted, and gave good solid advice which was in our best interests – not necessarily his. He was also a really nice chap that we knew we’d be happy to have working around our house for a week, and his quote was very reasonable when compared to others we had.

Fraser is the consummate professional; from our initial contact all the way through to completing the job, Fraser showed he really understood what his customers want, and wanted everything to be absolutely perfect. He responded professionally and quickly to our interactions on MyBuilder, turned up when he said he would and completed the job on time and to an excellent standard. He and Harry (his assistant) worked tirelessly every day, and really put the effort in. His service is truly excellent, other trades people could really learn a lot from him! His workmanship is brilliant – the house looks so much better now! and he left everything totally tidy every day throughout the job, and at the end, when it was complete. I would 100% recommend him to anyone.
